First of All, What is a Manifesto?
Well, I looked it up. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, a manifesto is “A written statement declaring publicly the intentions, motives, or views of its issuer.”
To me, a manifesto is a list of intentions and desires. If you choose to declare it publicly go for it. Personally, I don’t do that. For our purposes here manifestos can be vision boards, journal entries or a file on your computer. However, you choose to record it is a personal choice, as long as it is in a form you can see and use every day.
Another thing a manifesto is is an audacious uncovering of your heart’s desires. From family and relationships to financial & career, from things you’d like to acquire to the state you want for your health. Anything and everything your heart desires can be a component of your manifesto.

Your Subconscious Mind
One very important thing to keep in mind….your subconscious mind does not recognize words like can’t, don’t or not. Therefore mind chatter that includes these words will often bring about the very thing you’re seeking to be rid of.
Your subconscious mind works in pictures, smells and sounds. Therefore visualizing yourself in great shape will trigger your subconscious mind to guide you to the activities that will produce the results you’re looking for. Trade in “I can’t get in shape” for “I am in great shape” while visualizing your new body in your mind.
The trick here is to use your conscious mind to direct your subconscious mind. Since the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference it will eventually start acting on what it hears over and over again.
Bring on the “I Am”
While working towards your stellar life remember to always say “I Am”. The reason for this is that the universe will kick in to bring you whatever you tell yourself you are. Just remember not to use this powerful statement on negativity. Because saying “I’m a klutz” will bring energy to you to help you stumble and fall or slam your finger in the door.
Additionally, it is possible to booty bump negative thoughts right out of your mind. By replacing those negative thoughts with better feeling thoughts you can shift your consciousness a little at a time. And eventually, you’ll find negative thoughts creeping in less and less.
Visualization
I use this with parking and have for many many years. While fully expecting to get a really good spot I drive into the parking lot saying, “Where’s MY spot?” And lo and behold I almost always get a really good spot even when the parking lot is full. My kids used to say, “What the heck? How do you do that?” Of course, I just let them know that I’m magic! But seriously, I expected a good spot, visualized a good spot and guess what? I got what I expected to get.
Setting Good Intentions
Setting intentions and becoming centered and grounded in your intentions are paramount to creating a manifesto for your life. It’s one thing to know what you want and quite another to really drop in and be present with your intentions. In other words do a little soul-searching, feeling in to see if your wants really align with your true purpose. Additionally, realigning with your intentions daily gives your life direction and accelerates the process of manifestation.
Writing Your Manifesto
To help you get started writing your manifesto I’ve come up with some categories that should work for most of you.
- Health
- Fitness
- Career
- Financial
- Family
- Relationships
- Hobbies
- Community
By no means are these the only categories you can or should have. Being that everyone is different some will have additional areas that you’ll want to manifest in and they should be included on your list. Likewise, there may be categories you’d like to eliminate, so, by all means, do so. After all, this is your manifesto.
With these topics in mind, there are questions that must be answered to uncover your true desires around each area.
- What outcome would you like to have? Be very specific here. Perhaps you’d like to have a newly remodeled kitchen and family room. Instead of stating that you want a new kitchen and family room describe in great detail what it will look like…the cabinets, the pulls, the pantry, the flooring, the counters, the furniture, etc, etc. How will the light illuminate your beautiful new space? Describe it all…
- What is the time frame to be completed/manifested? For example, if you are aspiring to be working in your dream job you would say/write “In 6 months’ time I AM working in my dream job.” Again describe in detail your dream job, how much money you’ll be making, how your days feel as you set your timeline.
- How do you feel once you have manifested your desire? Sit quietly, breathing deeply as you feel into this question. If for example, you’d like to manifest a loving relationship imagine your perfect partner and allow your heart to fill up with love, feeling all the happiness and security loving fully and feeling loved brings. This is, in my opinion, the most important step in the manifestation process. In other words…..You’ll see it when you believe it.
Fun Example: ‘ In 6 months’ time I Am working in my dream job, selling leather hot pants. I Am making $(pick your number) or more per year. I feel elated when I look at my bank accounts and joyful that I am able to fund my desires, help my family and give to the causes that I care about. ‘
Finally, take the time you’ll need to go through the process of answering the questions and writing how having each thing will make you feel once you have it. I’ve named my manifesto “Manifesto Extraordinaire” Of course you should name yours to suit you or feel free to share mine!
Once you have your manifesto completed read through it daily. (Or gaze upon it if it’s in vision board form.) Importantly this will remind you of your deepest desires and how the having of them will feel.
