A Morning Routine to Amplify Your Life

Are you maximizing your true potential and realizing your dreams? Or have you simply settled into mediocrity, living a life below your true potential? And worse yet, are you justifying that it’s ok to accept that perhaps this is just the way it is? Don’t settle! Adopting a mindful morning routine can transform your life.

Are You Ready to Stop Living a Less Than Stellar Life?

Let’s face it, resigning to accept whatever life gives you will never set you up for living the life of your dreams. We all have many layers to our lives, and more often than not if we are excelling in one area we’re letting other areas slide. For instance, you can have a booming career but a miserable home and family life. Or you could have a loving nurturing home life and your health is deteriorated. As a result, your life is out of balance.

Face it, there’s no big rule in the universe saying you have to settle in ANY area of your life. That you can’t have happiness, success, love, health and ultimately live in abundance in all those areas. It’s your duty and right to achieve satisfaction and fulfillment in every aspect of your life.

Did You Know?

  • Around 80% of the most successful people on the planet have a morning routine?
  • How you wake up each day dramatically affects your level of success in all areas of your life?

So are you ready for?

  • Vibrant health?
  • Exuberant happiness?
  • Abundant wealth?
  • Fulfilling relationships?
  • A satisfying career?

You are capable and worthy of having all of the above. And it is possible. For instance, it’s a simple as having a morning routine that you do every day, at least more days than not.

Ignore the Haters

Sometimes when we embark on improvements in our own lives we get push back from family or friends. This isn’t because they don’t care about us. It’s more about them feeling a little threatened by our changes. Or maybe they’re simply afraid if we get too happy we won’t need them anymore. But let me assure you that becoming the best version of yourself will be a good thing for everyone involved. Your newfound happiness will spill out and touch those who are truly caring of you, possibly even prompting them to ask, “Hey, what are you doing? I want that!”

Then there are those who get jealous and try to drag you back down. Keep you where they want you. So…you have to ask yourself…do you need them in your life? All I’m saying is, don’t drop anchor there. It’s not up to you to be less than you can be to make other people feel secure. Sometimes we simply have to cut ties with people who don’t have our very best interests at heart.

For these reasons, I encourage you to ignore the haters. After all, what people think of you is really none of your business. Let it go. You’ve got bigger fish to fry. You need to fulfill your dreams!

So, What is a Morning Routine?

A morning routine is your time to work on yourself. It is a time to review your goals, meditate, practice gratitude, get some exercise and prepare for your upcoming day.

There have been incredible testimonials from people of all walks who have embarked on the journey first brought to light by Hal Elrod. In his book “The Miracle Morning” people have professed to lose stubborn weight, improving the quality of their lives, lowering stress levels and doubling their incomes in record times.

The most substantial benefits I personally noticed from the practice are the ability to live in alignment with my true purpose and being in a state of ease while being more productive.

“Our outer world will always be a reflection of our inner world. Our level of success is always going to parallel our level of personal development. Until we dedicate time each day to developing ourselves into the person we need to be to create the life we want, success is always going to be a struggle to attain.”      ~Hal Elrod

Steps to a Successful Morning Routine

Wake up early…I know, it hurts but you gotta do it. Don’t hit the snooze button. Just get up. Maybe 5:00 am is early for you or 7:00 am. Just make sure you have an hour to yourself and leave enough time after to get where you need to be for the day. Don’t touch your phone. No Facebook, Twitter or email until you’ve finished the following steps.

These steps were taken from Hal Elrod’s book with a few of my own adjustments. Nothing here is written in stone so use this as a template to create your own morning routine.

Silence/Prayer/Meditation

The first step in your morning routine is taking 10-20 minutes for silence. Take a few deep cleansing breaths and then settle into normal rhythmic breathing. I like to listen to guided meditations like the ones offered on Choprameditation.com but Youtube has plenty of free guided meditations too. You can also use this time for prayer or simply sit in silence focusing on your breath. You’ll be amazed at the sense of calm you’ll have by doing this.

Reading

Take 10 minutes to read. Some examples of good reading material are:

I have a manifesto I read each and every morning. I wrote it myself based on the teaching of Napoleon Hill in Think & Grow Rich. It’s a 4-page document listing what I want and what I’m willing to do to get it. Listed in the document is everything from how I want my home to be, what kind of car I want to drive and all the mindful and loving ways I want to be. Want to find out how to write a Manifesto? Head over to Creating Your Manifesto to Realize Your Dreams.

Next, I read my goals, another document I have with 10-year goals, short-term goals of about 2-3 months and a category called ‘Now Would Be Good’. Obviously, the shorter term and now would be good categories that need to be adjusted periodically but those 10-year goals of mine are truly audacious.

Affirmations

Next up in your morning routine is ‘I Am’ affirmations. These are incredible. The reason is that adding ‘I Am’ before a sentence sets in motion the process of manifestation. Your sub-conscience mind doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what is not. It begins the process of shifting deep-seated beliefs and moving them in a more positive direction. It’s very important to be mindful of your self-talk because your sub-conscience mind will deliver to you whatever you tell it. Write out a list of Your ‘I Am’ affirmations and read them or say them out loud to yourself.

Gratitude

This is my favorite part of my morning routine. Take a notebook, a designated gratitude journal or open a new document on your computer and start the practice of gratitude. Nothing, and I mean nothing will transform your life like this one.

I found this beautiful gratitude quote in a book of my Grandmothers.

Write down 5 things you are grateful for. It can be anything you want. This can be done as part of your journaling if you like. When we are mindful of things we have to be grateful for it leaves less room in our minds and spirits to notice the negative. And seriously, the more you express what you are grateful for, the more things show up in your life to be grateful for. To find out more head over to The Magic of Gratitude.

Visualization

If you haven’t already, create a vision board. Cut out or print pictures of everything you want in your life. This is in keeping with your ‘I Am’ affirmations and my own ‘Morning Manifesto’, just in eye-candy form. Take a few minutes to look at the pictures, imagining how you will feel once you have the thing you want.

An example would be: Is there a longed-for car on your board? Imagine the comfortable soft leather seats and the smooth ride as you drive your new car. Feel yourself in the car. Relish in the feeling as you look at the picture of your new car.

Journaling

Use this time to write. Allow yourself to freely write about anything and everything. You can use this time to express gratitude or write about your feelings. Anything you like. Sometimes when something is pressing on my mind I find that writing about it lifts the burden. It just knocks that monkey right off my back.

Exercise

No morning routine would be complete without exercise. Now it’s time to get the juices flowing. Push-ups, sit-ups, yoga or whatever you want. Just move your body. I have a mini-trampoline I use. 15 minutes bouncing is like an hour on the treadmill. I just made that up but it could be true. Regardless, it works every muscle and gets me revved up and ready to take on the day! Here’s one I like and use. JumpSport 250

Have the Best Life Ever!

I hope you’ll commit to starting a wonderful morning routine. It has truly transformed my life and I hope it has a wonderful impact on yours too. Commit to 28 days and let me know how it goes. I’m never going back…will you?
